Penny Lea Dyer was born April 19, 1963, in Norwalk, California to Robert and Mary Kay Diaz as their first-born daughter. Penny is survived by her husband Matthew Dyer, her son and daughter-in-law David and Elisabeth Harnden, her granddaughter Norah, her grandson Lucas, and sister and brother-in-law Jim and Shelly Rothmuller.
Penny went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 9, 2024. Penny was a fighter who had a strong faith in Jesus as her healer and fought to the end expecting to see healing in her body. She is now walking in Glory with her Savior and fellowshipping with those loved ones who preceded her in death.
Penny’s life was characterized by her love, caring, empathy, and friendship. She was known for her drive, work ethic, and excellence in all she did. She raised her son as a single mom and was proud of the man he has become.
Penny spent 20 years in the photography business. She started with Olin Mills as a sales consultant and worked her way up to be the regional manager over 20 plus studios. She then went on to Picture People as a store manager. At the Santa Ana store she hired and developed a team that ended up becoming the number 1 store out of over 300 locations nationwide. Many of those employees became personal friends and are still so to this day.
It was at the age of 21 that Penny accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Through all the trials and ups and downs of life she has hung on tenaciously to her relationship to Jesus. Over the last 15 years, during which Penny had fought several struggles with health issues, she had seen many healings in her body as her faith grew and she committed herself more and more to serving the Lord through her church. The Lord blessed her in many ways including her marriage to Pastor Matthew in 2015.
Penny’s life was a life well lived, full of love, joy, and peace. We will miss her.
