Ricardo Duarte entered the joys of eternity with The Creator on August 19th, 2020. For weeks he battled the Coronavirus and the Acute Respiratory Infections that came with it, until he could no longer manage. He was born May 31, 1954 in Tijuana, Mexico, the son of Zenaida and Enrique Duarte.

Ricardo graduated from Belmont High School (Los Angeles) in 1973. Following graduation he went into the workforce and learned dry-wall construction with his late brother Enrique Duarte. He was a meticulous worker and enjoyed a career in this trade for over thirty years. Ricardo married Sandra in 1976 and they enjoyed 44 years of marriage. They raised their three children Justin, Olivette and Melvin in Glendora, CA.

Ricardo was very involved in the lives of his children and his six grandchildren, Madison, Elijah, Jael, Seth, Selah and Audrina. He loved camping, playing games with them, making them laugh, praying with them and attending their sporting events. His treasure was found in spending time with his family and enjoying the company of loved ones.

Ricardo had many hobbies. He enjoyed playing soccer, ping-pong, card games, racquetball and pool. Ricardo used his hobbies as a vehicle to love on the people who participated with him. Over the years, his hobbies were many, but his true passion was learning about and worshiping God and sharing Christ’s love with others. He was involved with his church Cosecha Companerismo Cristiano the last few years of his life. He fervently prayed for his close and distant family and enthusiastically shared the truth of God’s grace with everyone. Ricardo’s smile and charisma was a blessing to so many people. His kindness and loving ways will be missed by all.

Ricardo was predeceased by his father and his mother, as well as his older brothers Luis and Enrique Duarte. He is survived by his wife Sandra, their three children, six grandchildren and his sisters Alba Genie, Alejandra Duarte and Laura Carrillo.

A graveside burial service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 10th, 9 am at Oakdale Memorial Cemetery, in Glendora, California. The memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12th at 5:30 pm at Cosecha Companerismo Cristiano 8880 Magnolia Ave, Riverside, California.
