Rosa Maria Velazquez

Rosa Maria Velazquez, known to her family and friends as Rosita or Rose, age 56, of Ontario, California fought a tough and courageous battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026, with her loving husband by her side.

She was born on January 28, 1970 in La Playa, Zacatecas, to Maria R. Garcia and Ramiro Nunez. She grew up in Azusa, where she graduated from Azusa High School in 1989.

She went on to attend University of La Verne, where she earned a degree in Athletic Training.

Rosa enjoyed her position as an instructional assistant at Covina High School. Dedicating 25 years to education, she touched the lives of countless students with her warm heart and beautiful smile.

In 2017, she married Alfredo Velazquez in San Bernardino, California. Together, they shared 12 wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Rosa was known for her love of: God, family, friends, students, karaoke, dancing, hiking, crafting, hearts and roses, and her contagious passion for being social and helping others.

She is survived by her husband, Alfredo; son, Isaac; mother, Maria; and granddaughter, Lylah. She is also survived by her three brothers, three sisters, six in-laws, three bonus daughters, bonus granddaughter, bonus grandson and her twenty-four nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

A funeral service will be held on June 1, 2026 at 1:00pm at Oakdale Mortuary, located at 1401 S. Grand Ave. Glendora, CA 91740.

Nació el 28 de enero de 1970 en La Playa, Zacatecas, hija de Maria R. Garcia y Ramiro Nunez. Creció en Azusa, donde se graduó de Azusa High School en 1989.

Posteriormente asistió a la Universidad de La Verne, donde obtuvo un título en Entrenamiento Atlético.

Rosa disfrutó de su trabajo como asistente de instrucción en Covina High School, donde tocó la vida de innumerables estudiantes con su cálido corazón y hermosa sonrisa, dedicando 25 años a la educación.

En 2017, se casó con Alfredo Velazquez en San Bernardino, California. Juntos compartieron 12 maravillosos años llenos de amor, risas y recuerdos inolvidables.

Rosa era conocida por su amor a Dios, su familia, sus amigos, sus estudiantes, el karaoke, el baile, el senderismo, las manualidades, los corazones y las rosas, además de su contagiosa pasión por ayudar a los demás y unir a las personas.

Le sobreviven su esposo, Alfredo; su hijo, Isaac; su madre, Maria; y su nieta, Lylah. También le sobreviven sus tres hermanos, tres hermanas, tres hijas de cariño, una nieta de cariño, un nieto de cariño y veinticuatro sobrinos y sobrinas, todos a quienes amó profundamente.

Se llevará a cabo un servicio fúnebre el 1 de junio de 2026 a la 1:00 p.m. en Oakdale Mortuary, ubicado en 1401 S. Grand Ave., Glendora, CA 91740.
