Souhela was born On January 18, 1947 to Rahmeh and Othman Malouhi in Damascus, Syria. She spent her childhood in Homs and graduated from Damascus University, receiving a Bachelors Degree in physics and math.
Souhela went on to teach at a nearby high school where she enjoyed giving back to her community. A few years later, Souhela met the love of her life, Tony, and within a very short time, they were ready to begin their new life together. In October of 1973 Tony and Souhela were married in Beirut, Lebanon. They began their family, with all three of their boys being born in Damascus.
After a visit to Los Angeles in 1984, the family decided to move and raise their kids in Glendora, California.
Souhela was very active in her church and the Women’s Guild. Souhela loved to plan vacations including cruises and trips to Las Vegas. While in town, Souhela would usually be entertaining at her house and hosting parties for her family and friends. With Souhela, it was always, the more, the merrier.
By far, the most important aspect of Souhela’s life was her family. Not only was she a caretaker at home, Souhela was also well known as a “mother to all.”
Souhela is survived by her husband Tony Moukabaa, her three sons Steve, Joe, and Hani, and a grandson Anthony born to Steve in 2010.
We know she is in a better place, but we also know she will be sorely missed by her friends and family.
