Larry was born on June 21, 1946, in Coulee Dam, Washington, to Raymond and Alice McClain. He proudly served in the United States Army for four years. Following his military service, Larry built a long and dedicated career with the Bureau of Reclamation, where he worked for 33 years before retiring.
In 1973, he married the love of his life, Helen Nelson. Together they raised two daughters and two stepsons; Alicea, Heather, Randy, and Dion. They built a life centered around family, hard work, and simple joys.
Larry was known for his easygoing nature and the things he loved most sitting in his chair watching football and NASCAR, tending to his beautiful yard, and relaxing while watching the river flow by. Above all, he cherished time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-granddaughter, who brought him immense joy.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; his daughters, Alicea (Marty) and Heather (Bobby); his grandchildren, Cori, Ricky, Natalie, Travis, Brenna, and Calleigh; and his great-granddaughter, Zelda.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 7th at 12:00 p.m. at The Eagles Lodge; where he was well known for his famous steaks.
Larry will be remembered for his quiet strength, his love of family, and the peaceful life he created around him.
