I'm sorry to be so tardy in leaving a message of condolence at Mike's passing.  I was in New Zealand (without any tech devices) when the e-mail came with this surprising news.  It was so thoughtful of him to leave a message on my answer machine shortly before I left in response to the card I'd sent.  I had hoped we might visit when I got back.  I'll always remember Mike as an energetic, intelligent and well liked member of our class of 1960.  I know he's missed by many of us.

Mike & Neoma are truly missed by both Pat   and I. We enjoyed their company on so many occasions there in Coulee Dam. We were so happy to spend time with them in Laughlin Nevada after our move back east. Mike and I were friends for 28 years. We hunted and fished in Washington and Idaho. Mike was truly a naturally great wing shot. Our adventures were often humorous and we laughed at one another quite often. I remember stripping to my skivey shorts to retrieve his pheasant double my dog had refused to retrieve when it was in the twenties at steamboat rock state park. Mike referred to me as his best retreiver. We often called each other Mike & Ike, or the odd couple. Mike was my best friend when no one else would be my friend. I shot a few birds in your name this year old buddie, and we will be back in the field together again one day as partners in crime and mayhem for all time.

Mike and I go back to 1950 and the 5th grade when his family moved from Grand Coulee to CD. We became great buddies--best friends forever.  We hiked, hunted, fished, biked, swam together.  We had our own language and our close held jokes.  Mike was an expert on the baseball diamond, football field, and basketball court.  He was a big personality in our class of 1960.  One classmate put it best when she wrote, "We all loved Mike, didn't we, what's not to love?"  He was FUN where ever he was and whatever he was doing.  He and Neoma were a pleasure to visit in their house overlooking the lake.  Mike was our class link with home--Coulee area--as he was for many years of classes.  Always had news of someone we knew.  I am so glad to have visited him just last June: we had a dinner together on the balcony of the casino on one of those clear, beautiful, summer nights that we remember so well.  And then one last walk and one last hug and away I went to my other life, leaving a piece of my heart with Mike.  He was aching so for the loss of Neoma.  And now he's gone, the friend of a lifetime.  Mike, you were well loved and you will be much missed by both family and friends.  Sleep in peace, old friend, you will be with me for the rest of my days.

So sorry to hear of Mikes passing. It is a real shock.
I know it was from a broken heart after the loss of Neoma. He is at peace now, with her.

I can still hear Mike at the 50th Reunion! He had so many stories to tell to get us caught up on the lives and whereabouts of our friends and classmates! I have always lived far away and haven't kept in touch very much. Will miss him so much.

Farewell old buddy and classmate!  thanks for all the hunting and fishing spots you showed me! I became a wing shooter and dog trainer under your guidance! Could not have done it without you and "old Sam" your beloved Brittany!

My husband first met Michael and then, his wife, Neoma, in Laughlin, Nevada at a sports book. They hit it off instantly.  So much so that Michael invited Cory and I to his house.  We just loved going there! It was so peaceful! I would go out onto he deck to enjoy my coffee and to read in the mornings.  Before Neoma passed away, I would enjoy spending time with her in the morning.  We would talk about her word search books, and just life in general.  Before we would leave to go home, Neoma would give us a loaf of zucchini bread because she knew how much I loved hers! It was delicious! Neoma would go to bed early and we would go downstairs with Michael to watch westerns or the news.  We just couldn't believe it when we heard about Michael passing away too! He had thought about joining us in Laughlin in Febuay 2018.  He had also thought about taking a cruise with us! We last saw him in May for a week when we went to go stay with him after Neoma passed away.  That was hard to believe too! We would go for walks with him and he seemed in good health as far as we knew, except for his diabetes, which was being controlled with pills and diet.  They are both dearly missed! Our hearts go out to their family!

I am so sorry we have lost a friend and classmate.  Mike always had a twinkle in his eye and a spring in his step. Loved teasing me because I was so niaive about so many things in life. He will be so missed by many and remember by all
