

Rosemary Standel was born July 29,1941 and grew up in Sandpoint, Idaho. She met David D. Barnhart in 1956 and married 11/10/1957. They were married for 63 years. Rosemary worked as a Nurses’ Aide at Holy Family Hospital in Spokane, Washington. She was very active member at Ridgeview Assembly of God. She enjoyed creating art, crafts, painting and needlework and playing her accordion.
Rose was an amazing and loving mother to her four children. Many others knew her as “Mom” due to her genuine empathy and love for others. She took many children under her wing and shared God’s love with them while teaching life skills to her own family. These life lessons will forever be a part of her children’s, grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s lives as well as many who needed a strong Godly Mother figure. Rose supported her husband Dave in the Royal Ranger program and often assisted in many ways.
She moved to Medical Lake, to take care of her mother in 1976. She worked at Lakeland and Interlake Institution 1980-1997, as foodservice and then as a seamstress. As a supervisor she designed clothing for disabled children & adults.
She was proceeded in death by David (husband) 2021. Rose is survived by 4 children, Cynthia Greely(Dan), Mary Kuhfuss, Mark Barnhart(Cassie), Brenda Tinkham(Mike). Honorary daughter Peggy Whye. She also adopted many families. Rose had 22 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren; 4 brother n laws; 9 sister n laws who are still living along with nieces and nephews.
Special friends are the Keltz’s family; Archie, Edie & Kitty; Darlene & Christa and many others whose lives she touched. Special thanks to McKay Healthcare for all the care you gave to Rose.

Celebration of life for Rosemary will be held Saturday February 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Journey Church, 4224 E. 4th Ave, Spokane WA
