During a visit with her brother in Detroit, Michigan, she met and later married Minnis Taylor, who was also from Greeneville. For several years, they made their home in Michigan, where they raised two children.
She loved and served God and was very involved in their church. She was a Sunday School Teacher, Vice President over the Ladies Auxiliary, and the church softball team coach. She also worked full time at the Henry Ford Hospital as a lab aide and retired there after 22 years.
She was a devoted wife for 55 years and a wonderful mother and mamaw. She loved to sew, quilt, make crafts, garden, cook new recipes, and collect cookbooks. Her grandchildren will always remember her warmth, love and infectious laughter.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Amedisys Hospice. All staff made these difficult times easier to bear; however, a special nurse and CNA, Shelley and Rhonda, became indispensable with their knowledge, kindness and ability to make mom laugh. Their visit became a bright spot in her day. We are forever grateful to them.
