

He was retired from Five Rivers and was owner of Ma & Pa’s Family Restaurant.
Billy Joe was of the Church of God faith. He had re-dedicated his life to the Lord.
He was an avid golfer, having played every day as long as his health permitted. He loved the outdoors and loved making his grandchildren laugh.
Billy Joe is survived by a daughter and son-in-law: Lynnette and Steve Malone of Greeneville; son and daughter-in-law: David and Holly Brooks of Greeneville; four grandchildren: Anna Brooke Malone, Dallas Brooks, Dillon Brooks, and Dalton Brooks; great grandson: Brooks Allen Malone; father and mother: Lloyd “Buck” and Ann Brooks of Greeneville; sister and brother-in-law: Vickie and Jimmy Freshour of Greeneville; special niece and nephew: Bridget Patterson and Anthony Holt; special great nephews: Taylor and Tyler Patterson; and a close friend of the family: Josh Cutshaw of Greeneville.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Billy Joe Brooks, Jr.
The family will receive friends at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home from 2-7 p.m. Tuesday preceding the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. in Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Rev. Willis Bowers and Rev. Amos Penley officiating.
Interment will follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. It is requested that family and friends meet at the funeral home by 10:15 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Sheldon “Skip” Scheffers, Robert “John Boy” Carter, Marshall Brown, Jerry Fillers, Taylor Patterson, Tyler Patterson, and Terry “Huffy” Huff.
Honorary pallbearers will be staff of Caris Home Health, employees and customers of Ma & Pa’s Restaurant, Dr. A.K. Sen and staff, Dr. Elliott Smith and staff, employees of Brooks and Malone, and Dr. Abernathy and staff.
