

Boyd was born on December 11, 1934 in Limestone, Tennessee to the late William (Bud) and Mary Estepp Chandley. He graduated from Chuckey High School with a GED equivalency of two years in college. He served in the United States Army 1st Observation Battalion, 26th Artillery, where he spent 18 months in Germany.
Boyd was a dairyman for many years. He was a past member of Dairymen, Inc. and served as President of the Washington Farmer’s Co-operative as well as serving on the board of directors for multiple terms. He was an active member of Horse Creek Church of God for many years.
Boyd was an avid hunter and fisherman and shared his love of the outdoors with many friends and family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Rena Faye (Crum) Chandley; a daughter: Karen (Tim) Lyons; a son: Richard (Beverly) Chandley; two granddaughters: Marena Long and Jessica (David) Dunn; four grandsons: Logan Chandley, Jonathan (Brooke) Lyons, Jason Lyons, and Keith Lowe; three great grandchildren: Cherokee Lowe, Karleigh Dunn, and Carson Lyons; two brothers: Jerry (Carole) Chandley and Johnny (Bonnie) Chandley; one sister: Jean (Randall) Shelton; three sisters-in-law: Jeanetta Allison, Hilda Sells, and Shirley (Jerry) Whitburn; several nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends from 1pm-4pm Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bobby Morrison and Rev. Willard Wilcox officiating.
Interment will follow in Horse Creek Church of God Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan and Jason Lyons, Keith Lowe, Chris, Hunter, and Bobby Chandley, Robbie Shelton, and David Dunn.
Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Smith, Tom Snodgrass, and Jack Burris.
The family extends a special thanks to Smoky Mountain Hospice, especially Sally Milliner, for their loving care.
