Buford attended Jackson Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
He retired from Greene Valley Developmental Center.
He was a competitive bowler and avid golfer.
Buford is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kuba Ann and Ron Cole of Lake Havasu City, AZ; son, David Alan Dent of Torrington, WY; sister-in-law, Christine Knight; stepsister Brenda (Richard) Dobbelaere; stepbrother, Jake (Phylis) Keasling; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Noletta Cutshaw Knight; mother and father, Jim and Mabel Knight; brother, Charles Knight; sister and brother-in-law, Naoma and Bill Renner; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Preston and Lula Bell Cutshaw; and stepmother, Katherine Keasling Knight.
The family will receive friends 12-5pm Friday, December 26, 2025, at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 5pm in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jeff Blake.
Interment will be 11am Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Jackson Chapel Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10am to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers are Kenny Morrison, Jason Knight, Andrew Susong, Anthony Knight, Jesse Knight, and Isaac Renner.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Life Care Center of Greeneville and Caris Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
