

He was self-employed.
Mr. Carter was of the Church of God faith.
He was a member of the Greeneville Moose Lodge. He was an avid fisherman; he loved the outdoors.
Mr. Carter was outgoing and enjoyed life to the fullest.
Survivors include his wife: Joyce Carter; three daughters and sons-in-law: Brenda and Rex Key of Mosheim, Holly and Derek Fields of Jonesborough, and Cheryl and Tim Sandon of Colorado; grandchildren: Dakota Cutshaw, Dustin Strong, and Juliana Fields; five great grandchildren: Rebekah Strong, Dallan Strong, Zaylee Lewis, Jatayvion Wells, Zakiyah Wells; two sisters: Glennis Carroll of Illinois and Barbara Gaskins of Greeneville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Gordon Shelton, Harold and Glenna Waddell, Charles and Judy Seaton, Barbara Johnson, Dwight Hensley, David and Elizabeth Hensley, Larry and Marjorie Parman; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Gordon Shelton, Harold and Glenna Waddell, Charles and Judy Seaton, Barbara Johnson, Dwight Hensley, David and Elizabeth Hensley, and Larry and Marjorie Parman; several nieces and nephews; and special friends: Paul Idell, Barry Fisher, Everette Phillips and Eddie Starnes.
He was the son of the late Glen and Kathleen Carter and was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Shelton.
The family extends a special thanks to the staff at Davita Center in Greeneville.
The family will receive friends from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 8:00 pm Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jim Fillers and Rev. Richard Long officiating.
Interment will be at 2:00 pm Sunday in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:15pm Sunday to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Darrel Gaskins, Jeff, Nick, and Kevin Shelton, David Hensley, and Chad Mitchell.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Martin Tran, Charles Seaton, Gordon Shelton, Roger Gaskins, Dwight Hensley, and Harold Waddell.
