

He was a retired employee of MECO.
Survivors include two sons: Jason Matthews and Steve Matthews, both of Greeneville; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Kenneth and Betty Matthews, Mack and Lisa Matthews, Freddie and Kim Matthews, all of Greeneville; three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Felbia and Bud Crawford of Church Hill, Patsy and W. C. Weems, Faye Matthews, all of Greeneville; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was the son of the late Ransom and Ruby Mowel Matthews and was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Matthews; and an infant daughter, Linda Matthews.
The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Tuesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 1 pm Wednesday, February 25, 2015 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Buster Shelton officiating.
Interment will follow in Harris Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mack Matthews, Fred Matthews, Kenneth Matthews, W. C. Weems, Dale Miller, and Landon Haney.
Honorary Pallbearers are Bud Crawford, Larry Burkey, and Daniel Johnson.
