

He was a retired farmer.
He served with the U.S. Army from 1952-1954 in France and Germany.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law: Marcena Bowman and Beth and Victor Thompson; son: George “Buddy” Freshour; six grandchildren: Jeremy Bowman, Angie Ayres and spouse Bucky, Gaylynn Freshour and fiancé Robert Bradley, Kyle Thompson, Zack Long, Karlee Canfield; three great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; two brothers and one sister-in-law: Charles “Dick” and Kay Freshour and James “Jim” Freshour; sister: Elizabeth “Lynn” Trentham; two sisters-in-law: Wanda Freshour and Eva Bucklew; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Dale and Darby Stills; special uncle: Lloyd Lamb of Knoxville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Bertie Stills Freshour; parents: Harl and Bethel Freshour; brothers: Don, Edward “Fish” and Douglas Freshour; sisters: Margaret Freshour, Wylene Peters, and Phyllis Hilton; and a son-in-law: Roy Bowman.
The family will receive friends from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm Tuesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 8:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Clarence Gammil officiating.
Interment will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday in River Hill Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at 1:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Allen Woods, Allen Pinkston, Lester Darnell, David Darnell, Anthony Fox, Chuck Freshour, and family.
A special thanks is extended to his caregivers: Helen Brown, Janet Varney, the staff of Res Care and Caris Hospice and the VA Mountain Home.
