

He was of the Methodist Faith.
David was a retired employee of Magnavox after 40 years of service, and he was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
David is survived by his children, David Gray II and Vickie Gray; a grandson of the home whom he raised as his own, Wesley Gray; three grandchildren, Chelsea Gray, Summer Frye, and Tiffany Tillman; a special nephew, Chris Gray; and special cousins, Deborah Dean Holloway and Jerry Harrison.
He was the son of the late Josh and Selma Gray and is preceded in death by his wife, Mitzi Gray; stepdaughter, Lee Mathes; and two brothers, Tony Gray and Rex Gray.
The family will receive friends 2-4pm and 6-8pm Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be conducted at 8pm in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel, officiated by Rev. Doug Jennings and Rev. John Branch.
A military graveside service will be conducted at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery at 11am Thursday, March 19, 2026, by the Greene County Honor Guard and National Guard Funeral Honors Team. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10am to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers are Wesley Gray, David “Porky” Gray II, Chris Gray, Chris GeFellers, Larry Gray, and Josh Lane.
Honorary Pallbearers are the Nurses and Staff of PCU of Johnson City Medical Center, Smoky Mountain Hospice, and Silver Angels.
Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
