

He was a farmer.
His family stated, “He was a hardworking farmer and a loving husband, father and grandfather.”
Survivors include his wife of 58 years: Ollie Lamb Waddell; four sons and spouses: Gary Waddell and Pam Carpenter; Ricky and Beverly Waddell; Kenny Waddell; Jerry and Rachel Waddell; six daughters and spouses: Marilyn and Richard Dearing; Betty and Larry Knipp; Diane and Dale Southerland; Janice and Gary Helbert; Darlene and Jerry Campbell; Gina McAmis;
nine grandchildren: Richie Dearing, Stacy Dearing, Eric Southerland, Katie Knipp, Heather McAmis, Madison Waddell, Jessica McAmis, Alison Campbell, Megan Southerland; five sisters and spouses: Lorene Stills; Besslene Crum Davis; Bertha Dixon; JoAnn Wheeler; Brenda and Everette Aldridge; four brother and spouses: Roy and Frances Waddell; Leonard and Wilma Waddell; Cleatus and Michelle Waddell; Clyde Waddell; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Buford and Mable Lamb; Helen Lamb; Howard and June Bowers; several nieces and nephews.
He was the son of the late Edd and Pet Waddell and was preceded in death by two half brothers: Charlie Waddell and Andrew “Andy” Waddell; two half sisters: Mary Willie Collins and Metra Kinser.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, February 7, 2011, at the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel. Rev. Jim Fillers and Rev. Buster Shelton will officiate. Interment will follow in the Cedar Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Eric Southerland, Richie Dearing, Stacy Dearing, Ronald McAmis, Stevie Waddell, Robert Lamb, and Keith Lamb.
Honorary pallbearers will be Robert “Bill” Solomon, Norman Hunley, Tom Conner, Lewis Holt, Johnny Powers, Rex Miller, Dr. Richard Aasheim and staff, Signature HealthCARE Center staff and employees;Caris Hospice staff and employees.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
