

She retired from Fulflex, formerly George C. Moore Co., in 1993.
She was a faithfully devoted member of Meadow Creek Presbyterian Church in Greeneville, where she said she “went to church since my Daddy carried me.”
Mrs. Hensley loved gardening and canning her produce. She enjoyed baking and was well known for her apple dumplings, red velvet cake and angel food cake. She was also an accomplished seamstress and quilter.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law: Rev. Danny Charles and Karen Hensley of Morristown and Joe Allen and Teresa Hensley of Greeneville; grandchildren: Hannah Sheard and husband, Paul, of Huntsville, Alabama, Hiliary Bowman and husband Jason, of Afton, Nathan Hensley and wife Jennifer of Kingsport, Erin Rachel Hensley of Greeneville, Sarah Mehta and husband Hitesh of Tanzania, East Africa; seven great grandchildren: Taylor and Sophie Bowman of Afton, Kaleia, Jayden, and Malia Sheard of Huntsville, Alabama, Nolan and Lydia Hensley of Kingsport; sisters: Easter Collins and Bernice Ramsey; special friends: Rev. Homer and Doshia Roller; several nieces and nephews; her neighbors who were all special to her; and her wonderful, protective, loving dog, Foxy.
She was the daughter of the late Lonnie Lee and Gussie Yearwood Rupert and was preceded in death by her husband, James “Charlie” Hensley; a brother, Henry Rupert; sisters, Annie Ottinger, Margaret Rupert, Sibyl Renner and Naomi “Omie” Ramsey; and her special little dog, Ewok.
The family will receive friends 3-7 p.m. Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jeff Neikirk officiating. Rev. Tommy Collins, a nephew, will sing.
Interment will be at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, Meadow Creek Cemetery. The body will be taken to Meadow Creek Presbyterian Church to lie in state for one hour prior to the interment.
Her pallbearers will be Ken Thompson, Charles “Mo” Mitchell, Brian Stewart, Tim Seaton, Ken Horton, Paul Sheard, Nathan Hensley, Jason Bowman and Mike Serra.
Hitesh Mehta, Ray Neas, Jerry Fillers, Sammy Saulsbury, Dave Kross, Darwin Waddell, Mike Ottinger, Ross Hensley, Dale Hensley, Brent Neas and all of her nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family wishes to express gratitude to Smoky Mountain Health and Hospice Care, Dr. Linas Adams, Dr. Thomas Beckner, Dr. James Rodgers, Pastor Jeff and Carey Neikirk, Rev. Scott Gorrell, Pastors Gerald Rudd, Dale Gruver, and Stephen Aiken, Rev. Tom Ballard, Rev. Trevor Roberts, First Church of God in Greeneville, and Panther Springs United Methodist Church in Morristown. Special appreciation is expressed to her hairdresser, Inga Horton.
