

He was a lifetime farmer and a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He served on the Greene County Quarterly Court in the sixties, and served as the Grand Jury Foreman for a number of years.
Mr. Neas was a lifetime member of St. James Lutheran Church, where he was a Sunday School teacher for 50 years.
He was the charter president of the St. James Ruritan Club.
Mr. Neas served in the Pacific Theater during World War II and was wounded on Okinawa and received a Purple Heart. He served with the occupation forces in Japan.
He served a large role in the conservation of the Log Church replica and building of the current church.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law: Lamar and Pam Neas, Lanny and Vickie Neas, and Kim and Teresa Neas; grandchildren: Stena and Robert Meadows, Callie and Adam Short, Matthew Neas, Makayla and Kenan Wilhoit, Mindy Neas; Great grandchildren: Emma Meadows, Adalynn Wilhoit, and future great grandson, Jacob Short; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law: Pete Bowers; sister-in-law: Betty Bowers; and special friends: Dale and Suzanne Neas, Walter and Carolyn Renner, and Dorothy Ottinger.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years: Audeane Bowers Neas in 2012; parents: T. C. and Odessa Davis Neas; brothers: Clarence Cecil Neas, Thomas Eugene Neas, Truman Cloyd Neas, Aubrey Fred Nease, William Jacob Neas, Luther Adolphus Neas; and sisters: Zella Mae Shelton, Elma Ruth Neas, Margaret Louise Neas, Ruby Elnora Knipp, Irma Dean Neas, Ina Pearl Wyatt, and Hertha Lee Duggins.
The family will receive friends from 4pm-8pm Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday at St. James Lutheran Church with Pastor Paula Smith officiating.
Interment will follow in St. James Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Billy Bowers, Melvin Renner, Kendall Bowers, David Love, Brian Allen, Keary Nease, Andy Barnett, Ken Diehl, and Steve Neas.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the St. James Church and Community.
The family extends a special thanks to Pastor Paula Smith, caregivers: Sandy Ellenburg, Jeannie Luttrell, Patty Callander, Kim Davis, Marie Davis, Judy Melinn, Becca Christiansen, the staff of Amedisys Hospice, and the staff of Community Living Center at Mountain Home.
