

He was a lifetime farmer and retired from Futuristic after 45 years of service. He was a faithful member and Deacon of Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Mohawk, where he was saved in 1975. He was a loving father and papaw, who loved his family, his church, and the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Margie Kesterson; his father and mother, D.W. and Elizabeth Kesterson; his sister, Nancy Kirk; four brothers-in-law: Clyde Bible, Ronnie Keith, Wayne Collins, and Hal Kirk; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Pearl Turner.
He is survived by his children: Jeff (Sandra) Kesterson of Mosheim, Joy (Gary) Jones of Midway, and Jayson (Diannia) Kesterson of Bulls Gap; grandchildren: Brandon (June) Carter, Josh (Stacey) Kesterson, Jaylynn (Paige) Kesterson, Jhase Kesterson, Janson (Maddie) Kesterson, Krista Kirkpatrick, and Neyland Kesterson; seven great grandchildren: Sage, Madison, Zoe, Jacey and Ellie Kesterson, Averie Carter, and Ridge White; sisters, Venna Mae Collins and Martha Keith both of Mohawk; brother, Joe (Marylin) Kesterson of Midway; sister-in-law, Susie Chappell of Gate City, VA; brother-in-law, Billy (Robbie) Turner of Mohawk; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 4:00-7:00 pm Tuesday at Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 pm. The Rev. Troy White, Rev. James Seal, and Rev. Phil Hopkins will officiate.
Interment will be conducted at 11:00 am Wednesday at Phillipi Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the church at 10:00 am to go in procession to the cemetery. His family will be pallbearers.
