

Prior to retirement, he was owner and operator of Roark Hardware in Mosheim.
He was a member of Mosheim Central United Methodist Church.
He was an avid sports fan, a supporter and fan of Tennessee Volunteers and Atlanta Braves. He enjoyed
hunting trips to West Virginia and fishing trips to North Carolina with his special friends. He also loved
to play Rook, a tradition started by his father and continues with his children and grandchildren. He
hosted many Rook games and fish fries in the Roark Hardware store building. After closing the store, he
enjoyed playing Rook with his friends at Shanks & Shanks grocery in the Horse Creek Community. He
especially loved to attend all the sporting events that his grandchildren were involved in and teaching
his grandson the sport of fishing and hunting. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, sister, and brother-in-
law. After retirement, one of his favorite get-a-ways was the farm in Hawkins County.
Survivors include his wife: Carolyn Roark; son: Brett Roark of Greenville, SC; special granddaughter and grandson: Paige Ramsey and Ben Ramsey; son-in-law: Mark Ramsey of Greeneville; sister and brother-in-law: Peggy and Sammy Fox of Greeneville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Wayne and Ella Harrell, Eddie and Jackie Sue Harrell, Barbara Harrell of Talbott, TN, David and Janice Harrell of Russellville, TN, Jimmy and Karen Harrell of CA, Perry and Christina Harrell of Germany, Ginger and David Blurton of Brownsville,TN; several nieces and nephews; special friend and his hunting buddy: Bill Dixon of Lewisburg, WV.
He was the son of the late Fred and Beulah Wylie Roark and was preceded by a daughter, Susan
Ramsey who passed away July 4, 2012; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry and Becky
Harrell.
At his request, the body will be cremated.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 15, 2012, in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel. Rev. Lou Kizer, Rev. Richard Long and Rev. Dwayne Casteel will officiate. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home preceding the memorial service.
Family and friends are asked to meet at 10:50 a.m. at the cemetery for the committal service.
