James Wayne Church, 63, of Afton, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018, at Cornerstone Skilled Nursing Home in Johnson City.

He was retired from Universal America.

Survivors include a daughter: Janie Cline; three grandchildren: Brandon Bowers, Brook Bowers and Jordan Cline; an aunt: Agnes Bradley; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Church; a grandson, Jase Cline; his mother, Josephine Cutshall; and a brother, Arthur Church.

The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held following visitation at 7 pm Thursday in the funeral home chapel.

Interment will be 1 pm Friday at Union Chapel Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery Friday for the interment service.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
