

He was a school bus driver for Greene County School System for 30 years and a farmer.
He was Baptist by faith and a member of the Orebank Volunteer Fire Department.
Mr. Witt is survived by his wife: Ruth Witt; son and daughter-in-law: Michael and Charlene Witt of Mosheim; three grandchildren: Allen Witt and spouse LeAnna, Nicholas Witt of Greeneville, Karen and Ryan Buchanan of Spruce Pine, North Carolina; brother: Ralph Witt of Morristown; sister and brother-in-law: Helen and Kenneth Rednour of Mosheim; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Boyd and Nona Chandler of Morristown, Grace and Richard Gosnell of Russellville, Wanda Lawson of Morristown, and Rena Witt of Mosheim; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the son of the late Dave and Callie Pack Witt and was preceded in death by one brother: Robert “Butch” Witt; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law: Lewis and Callie Chandler.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon Thursday, May 19, 2011 in Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Rev. Donnie Bible and Rev. Garry Gass officiating.
Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
His pallbearers are Allen Witt, Nick Witt, Marty Shelton, Ryan Buchanan, Brian Swafford, Cameron Shelton, Johnny Tolliver, Winfred Taylor, and Matthew Ashburn.
James Davis, Dr. Brad Strange and staff, Dr. Grant Taylor and staff, and the staff at Johnson City Medical Center will serve as honorary pallbearers.
