

He was retired from TVA.
Mr. Brotherton was a member of Romeo United Methodist Church.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific Theater, and was a Master Mason, Baileyton Lodge #520.
He was a loving husband, father and was a friend to many.
His favorite hobbies were woodworking and mastering crossword puzzles.
Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law: Dianne Oberlin of Knoxville, Jane and Brett Coffman of Seymour, TN, Betsy Brotherton of Cary, NC; a grandson: Landon Joel Morrill of Cary, NC; two special nieces: Deidre Aust and Peggy Henderson; a special nephew: Chris Pearson; and his beloved cat, T.T.
He was the son of the late Fred and Glenna Park Brotherton and was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Kidwell Brotherton; a grandson, Daniel Grieve; and a sister, Claire Brotherton.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2012, in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel. Rev. Doug Jennings
will officiate.
Interment will follow at Andrew Johnson National Cemetery. The Greene County Honor Guard and the Tennessee National Guard will conduct a military graveside service.
Pallbearers will be Mike Brotherton, Steve Burns, Jimmy Carter, York Quillen III, Mike Gosnell and J. C. Jones.
Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Sam Patton, Billy Jeff Burns, Phil Carter, Dr. Maynard Austin, Everette Burchette, and Rev. John Arnet.
The family extends a special thanks to his family at Morning Pointe and especially his good friend, Lois Nelson.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Monday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
