

Joe served in the US Air Force and retired from the US Army. He also served as a former District Commander of the Disabled American Veterans. During his college years he was a pitcher for the Tusculum Pioneer baseball team. He was a lifetime member of The National Street Machine Club and an avid supporter of TN Vols and Atlanta Braves.
He is survived by his wife: Deanna of 51 years; two children: Frankie of Greeneville and Kim Lawson (Josh) of Gray, TN; one grandson: Roan Lawson who was his pride and joy; one brother: Robert Catalfamo (Marion) of NJ; sisters: Roseanne Catalfamo of NJ and Diane Baldwin of Alabama; brothers-in-law: Herman Rednour, Jr. (Lois)and Jerry Messer; sisters-in-law: Mary Fezzell (Johnny), Frances Rednour and Mary Rednour; cousins: Ducky and Dennis McNeese of Greeneville and Tony and Libby Black of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews with one special nephew Jeff Morgan (Angie).
He was preceded in death by his father: Anthony Catalfamo; mother: Gladys Catalfamo and brother: Tony Catalfamo.

There will be no formal visitation. A military graveside service will be conducted Tuesday at 1:00 pm at Mountain Home National Cemetery with the Greene County Honor Guard and the TN National Guard performing the Rites. Chaplain Jeff Morgan will be in charge of the graveside service. The family requests those wishing to attend the graveside service meet at Mountain Home Cemetery at 12:45 pm Tuesday for the service.
