Joyce Ownby Holt

She was a member of Love’s Memorial United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Holt was a devoted wife and mother and was very spiritual. She loved to make quilts and was famous in the area for the quilts that she made. She donated many to local churches.

Survivors include her daughter: Lawanda “Dale” Strange of Newport; son: Albert Holt of Greeneville; granddaughters and spouse: Laura Strange of Newport, Sarah and Jamey Pritchard of Knoxville, and Julia Strange of Greeneville; eight great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father: Roy McKown Ownby; mother: Mary Elizabeth Holland Ownby Ragan; husband: Winston D. Holt; son: Donald Wayne Holt; daughter: Debra Holt; grandson: Joseph Roy Strange; and brothers: Roy Ownby and Ralph Ownby.

The family will receive friends from 6pm-8pm Sunday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 8:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dan Palmer officiating.

Interment will be at 11:00 am Monday in Love’s Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Gary Holt, J. J. Holt, Tim and Dennis Meyer, Rusty Ottinger, and Danny Ottinger.
