Joyce Underwood Ott

She was a member of Towering Oaks Baptist Church.

Those close to her knew her as a generous, caring and courageous person who loved her family and friends.

Survivors include two daughters and a special son-in-law: Janice and Ron Rippetoe of Mohawk, Carol Ott of Walled Lake, Michigan; six grandchildren: Kim Busler and husband, Randy, of Greeneville, Jennifer Lawrence and husband, Eric, of Lebanon, Angela Tchoumak of Dallas, Texas, Allen Rippetoe and wife, Kerri, of Townsend, Stephanie Harrison of Northville, Michigan, Matthew Rippetoe and wife, Shay, of Powell; nine great grandchildren: Caleb, Jared and Tyler Lawrence, Grant Busler, Allendre Rippetoe, Sawyer and Greta Rippetoe, Kaylei and Isaac Harrison; sisters-in-law: Janelle Jones of Lubbock, Texas, Mildred Underwood of Wartburg; and several nieces and nephews.

She was the daughter of the late Vester Lee and Virgie Underwood and was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Ott; three brothers, Olaf, Gene and Guy Underwood; one sister, Lorene Gann.

The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 8 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dennis Shumate officiating.

Interment will be at 10 am Friday at Andrew Johnson National Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at 9:15 am Friday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ron Rippetoe, Allen Rippetoe, Matthew Rippetoe, Randy Busler, Eric Lawrence, Grant Busler, Caleb Lawrence and Jared Lawrence.

The family wished to express a special thanks to the staff of Wellington Place, the staff of Amedisys Hospice, the staff of Laughlin Health Care Center, and the staff of Takoma Senior Care.
