Mr. Akins was a veteran of the U.S. Army; there he developed a passion for diesel mechanics.
Kenneth retired from Parker-Hannifin after 25 years, in 1997. He was an avid car enthusiast; who took great pride in remodeling cars and entering them into local car shows. Kenneth was loyal, courageous and quick witted.
As a devoted family man, he leaves many survivors; spending 60 years with the love of his life, Lois W. Akins; daughters, Connie Akins, Crystal Akins (Brittney), and twin granddaughters, Eden and Lyla Akins, who were the light of his life. Daughter, Kay Farlow (Daryl); son, Randy Ward (Loretta); 3 additional grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2-4 at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
