

He retired from General Electric then he worked at Bridges to Success with the Greene County School System.
He was a member of Baileyton First Baptist Church, where he also served as a deacon.
His ministry was soul winning. He was active in local and foreign missions. He had a special bond with his children in the Bridges to Success program, where he led many young men and women to the Lord. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife: Peggy Charlton Fillers; daughters and sons-in-law: Connie and Kevin Pierce, Debbie and Lynn Pitt, and Lori and Richard Parks of Greeneville; son and daughter-in-law: Jeff and Debbie Fillers of Greeneville; grandchildren and spouses: Tanna and Don Stansfield, Greg and Brandy Cannon, Barbie and Shannon Mullendore, Christy and Tony Shelton, Andy and Emily Pierce, Todd Pierce, Aaron Spears, Daniel Parks, Timmy Fillers, Stephen Fillers, and Evan Fillers, all of Greeneville, David Spears of Bristol, Virginia, Rick Parks of Maryland, and Johnathan Parks of Colorado; great grandchildren: Trent Cannon, Kailey Cannon, Little Don Stansfield, Tracy Stansfield, Doug Mullendore, Shayden Mullendore, Kristen Shelton, Jared Shelton, Zak Shelton, Owen Pierce, Anna Pierce, Ricky Parks, all of Greeneville, and Daniel Mewshaw of Maryland; brother: Ford Fillers of Greeneville; sister: Alma Fillers of Bristol, Tennessee; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a special friend: Larry Arrington.
He was the son of the late Hubert and Sarah Fillers and was preceded in death by his brothers: Robert, Jasper, Foster, John, and J.R. Fillers; and sisters: Carilea Cutshall, Ruth Morrison, Mildred Holt, and infant Charlsie Fillers.
The family will receive friends from 5-8pm Monday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 8pm Monday, December 16, 2013, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. James Roberts officiating.
Interment will be at 11am Tuesday at Union Temple Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at 10am Tuesday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
His grandsons will serve as his pallbearers.
