

He was employed in motel management.
Mr. Hensley was of the Baptist tradition of faith and was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #1990.
His family stated, “He was a proud Vietnam Veteran who served with the U.S. Marine Corps for over six years and was a drill instructor. He also loved his family and riding his Harley.”
Survivors include his wife of 40 years: Kathy Hensley; one son and daughter in law: Kenny Gene and Susan Hensley of Greeneville; one daughter: Angela Dawn Ragan of Greeneville;
two granddaughters: Hannah Noel Hensley and Sierra Nichole Hensley; two grandsons: Dakota Kenneth Ragan and Samuel James Ragan; one uncle and spouse: Stacey and Linda Hensley; one aunt: Elsie Hensley of Greeneville; one niece and nephew: Amber Smith and Lenny Hensley, Jr.; several brothers in law and sisters in law: Kenneth and Norma Gosnell of Greeneville; Lowell and Adeline Phillips of Fall Branch; John Lonnie Smith of Greeneville; David Gosnell of Kingsport; Judy Connie Baxter of Muscatine, Iowa; Don and Areline Roark of West Moreland, TN; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Joy Willett Hensley; one brother, Lenny Gene Hensley, Sr. and one son-in-law: James William Ragan.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday morning, July 8, 2010, in the Kiser Rose Hill Chapel. Rev. Wayland Fillers will officiate. Interment will follow in Andrew Johnson National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be announced later.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brownlow Bowman; staff of ICU at Johnson City Medical Center; Bill Long.
