Landon Earl Wilds

Landon was in the U.S. Army in France and Germany from 1954-1956. Landon married the love of his life on July 29, 1954. Landon and Marlene shared a true love story for nearly 71 years. He worked at Stoleys in Sydney, OH before moving to Tennessee. He then later worked at CE Minerals as a maintenance superintendent for 31 years. He was a member of The American Legion. Landon spent most of his time outdoors. He loved going to the lake to fish and camp with his family. He enjoyed deer hunting in Virginia. He loved to garden and owned many livestock.

He is survived by his wife: Marlene Wilds; three children: Bill (Lisa) Wilds, Sharlene Wilds, Lisa (Rich) Estes; daughter-in-law: Tammy Wilds; six grandchildren: Jason (Traci) Wilds, Nathan (Elizabeth) Wilds, Garrett (Cassie) Wilds, Hannah (Nathan) Seaton, Jackson West, Rachel West; ten great grandchildren: Colin Wilds, Reese Wilds, Avery Wilds, Eric Wilds, JoAnna Wilds, Ella Catherine Wilds, Margaret Wilds, Walker Seaton, Lyndi Seaton, Ava West; and sisters-in-law: Barbara Meyer and Virgina Coates.

Landon was preceded in death by his parents: David and Lula Wilds; a son: Gary Wilds and siblings: Gladys Linebarger, Reba Jones, Faine Wilds, David “DC” Wilds, Bernice Sheilds, Aubrey “Jake” Wilds, Bertrece Butcher; brothers-in-law: Omer Meyer and Richard Meyer, and sister-in-law: Dolores Ludwig.

The family wants to thank Caris Health Care and Beth Heer, Tammy Gartman and Kella Shipley.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 pm Saturday with the service following at 7:00 pm at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home with Brother Mike Taylor officiating. Interment will be held at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens at 1:00 pm Sunday. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:00 pm Sunday to go in procession to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Jason Wilds, Nathan Wilds, Garrett Wilds, Jackson West, Nathan Seaton and Jeff Jones.
