Lloyd "Buck" Brooks

He attended Flag Branch Church of God, where he enjoyed driving the church bus for many years.

After his retirement from the City School System, he started the plumbing business currently known as Brooks and Malone.

He was a World War II Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years: Addie Fillers Brooks; daughter and son-in-law: Vickie and Jimmy Freshour; grandchildren and their spouses: Lynnette and Steve Malone, David and Holly Brooks, Bridget Patterson, and Anthony Holt; step grandchildren: Jason Freshour and B.J. Freshour; great grandchildren and spouses: Anna and William Bowers, Taylor Patterson and Tyler Patterson, Dallas and Michael Ball, Dillon Brooks and Dalton Brooks; great-great grandchildren: Brooks Bowers and Addilynn Bowers and Joshua Ball; sister-in-law: Mary Waddell; brother-in-law and wife: P.C. and Geraldine Fillers; several nieces and nephews; and a special niece: Pam Huffine.

He was the son of the late Dana and Mary Ruth Brooks and was preceded in death by a son: Billy Joe Brooks; brothers: Harold, Ray, and Robert Brooks, and an infant brother; and a sister: Ruby Shropshire.

The family expresses a special thanks to Dr. Candi Overholt and Caris Hospice.

The family will receive friends from 4pm-7pm Tuesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Willis Bowers officiating.

Interment will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet at 1:30 pm Wednesday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery. The Greene County Honor Guard will conduct a military graveside service.

Pallbearers will be David Brooks, Anthony Holt, Steve Malone, Taylor Patterson, Tyler Patterson, and Clyde Dale Brooks.

Honorary pallbearers are the men of the Flag Branch Church, John Hicks, and Bruce Crum.
