

She was retired from Hurd Lock Corp. and was a homemaker and was a member of Liberty FreeWill Baptist Church.
Mrs. Nelson was survived by her husband of 60 years: Cecil Nelson; two daughters: Rita Mathes of the South Central Community, Cathy Nelson of Greeneville; three grandchildren: Kendall Mathes of the South Central Community, Jason Mercer, Amanda Mercer, both of Greeneville; five great grandchildren: Emily Mercer, McKinley Mercer, and Averell Hardage, all of Sevierville, Tennessee, and Lanta Nelson and Gage Mercer, both of Greeneville; two sisters: Ila Bacon and Wilma Dickey, both of Jonesborough; several nieces, nephews, and cousins, including a special cousin and caregiver, Barbara Ann Bailey of the South Central Community; and special friends: Steve and Rena Cutshall, Bob and Audrey Graves, all of the South Central Community, Gary and Jo Bailey of Jonesborough.
She was the daughter of the late Walter and Lanta Copp Broyles and was preceded in death by an infant sister, Mary Ellen Broyles, and a brother, James Broyles.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Kiser Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2011 at Liberty Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Norton, Rev. Tim Broyles, and Rev. John Buchanan officiating.
Interment will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
Her pallbearers are Daryl Broyles, J. R. Bacon, Dale Bacon, John Peirce, Allen Payne, and Steve Cutshall.
Her honorary pallbearers are Keith Watts, Paul Casey, Lynn Casey, Ronnie Casey, and Richard Nelson.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Kiser Rose Hill Funeral Home.
