

She was a homemaker and was a retired employee of Hurd Lock Corp.
Mrs. Dayton was a very faithful member of Philadelphia Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School for over 40 years.
She enjoyed the out-of-doors, working in her yard and gardening. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Gail and Andrew Landers of Unicoi; a son and daughter-in-law: Larry and Diane Dayton of Limestone; grandchildren: Kevin Dayton of Johnson City, Stephanie McAlister, Candice and Chris Chandley, all of Jonesborough; great grandchildren: Owen McAlister, Avery McAlister, and Trinity Dayton; one special sister: Kathleen Wilhoit of Limestone; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend: Christine St. John of Limestone.
She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Elsie Hammer and was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Dayton.
The funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2013, at Philadelphia Cumberland Presbyterian Church with
Rev. Rex Brown and Rev. Byrd Broyles officiating.
Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, at Philadelphia Cemetery.
Her family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Amedisys Hospice and to Dr. Joseph Scott and his staff.
The body will be taken to Philadelphia Cumberland Presbyterian Church Monday where it will remain throughout the services. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. at the church preceding the funeral service.
