Maynard was a retired educator and a musician. He was also a member of Flag Branch Church of God.
He is survived by his brothers: Ralph (Martha) Shelton and Dale (Jennifer) Shelton; nieces: Marsha (Joseph) Salyer, Michelle (Allan) Hutchinson, Darla Shelton, and Teresa Shelton; and a nephew, Joe Shelton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Radford; his parents, Edd and Velma Shelton; and a sister, Gwendolyn Shelton.
A memorial service and inurnment will be conducted at a later date.
