
He was retired and a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
Jake was a former employee of Black Cleaners, Greene Cleaners, and Boswell’s Paint Store. He grew up in Mohawk and moved to Greeneville to play football at GHS, where he graduated.
Jake enjoyed his grandchildren and gardening.
He served overseas in the Air Force during World War II.
He also served as an usher at Asbury United Methodist Church. He was a gentleman.
Mr. Williams is survived by a daughter: Linda Keefauver of Wyoming; two grandsons and spouses: John Williams Keefauver and Tori Campbell of Denver, Colorado and David Wayne and Jennifer Lawrence Keefauver of Rogers, Arkansas; great-grandsons: Jacob Wilson Keefauver and Benjamin David Keefauver of Rogers, Arkansas; sister: Jennie Goldasich of Greeneville; sister-in-law: Janice Moore of Greeneville; nieces and nephews: Connie Moore Knowles, Lisa Moore Scott of Louisville, Kentucky, Beth Moore Collier, Jane fountain Giles of Mobile Alabama, Robert H. Moore Jr., Paul Moore Jr., Dennis Goldasich of Albertville, Alabama, Chris and Jack Williams, and Janie Williams Laws; and special friends: Ralph “Buddy” and Nancy Boswell, Ralph Boswell Jr., Kim Dykes of Kingsport, Dale and Cody Fann, and Bill Kennon.
He was a son of the late Elmer and Mary Matthews Williams, and was preceded in death by sisters: Eureva Etter, Coby Fountain, and Billi Campbell; and a brother: Doc Williams.
There will be no formal visitation. However, everyone is asked to meet at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum
Monday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. for a memorial service. Rev. Jeannie Higgins will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Asbury United Methodist Church, 201 South Main Street, Greeneville, TN 37743; Greeneville Humane Society, 950 Hal Henard Road, Greeneville, TN 37743; or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Memorial and Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
