

Mr. Solomon grew up in the Cedar Creek Community and became a member of Cedar Creek Church of God (then Broyles Chapel). In 1960 he married Mary Anne Dearstone, his wife of 56 years. At that time he became a member of the First Church of God in Greeneville along with his wife. At the time of his death he attended Horse Creek Church of God. In 2018 he married Rebecca Shelton Bowers. They were married for seven years.
He was a member of the 1955 graduating class of St. James High School. He graduated from Greeneville Business School and also attended Steed College and Walters State Community College. Mr. Solomon was an office manager for Easterly-Weems, Bachman-Weems and Towne Gate Motors for several years. He changed careers the last 14 years of his work life as he was an OTR truck driver for Old Dominion Freight Lines-having retired in 2005.
Survivors in addition to his wife of seven years are two daughters and sons-in-law: Bridget and Jesse Knight of Chuckey, Wendy and Brian Morris of Woodstock, GA; one grandson: Cody Knight of Erwin; three granddaughters: Courtney and husband Travis Briles of Greeneville, Staci and Austin Terrel of Chattanooga and Kaylee Morris of Woodstock, GA, also extended family Aisha Reed and Opal Virts. Also surviving are seven great grandsons: David and Evelyn Knight, Caspian Knight, Quinton and Orion Knight, also Grant, Porter and Owen Briles of Greeneville and Maddox and Ava Terrel of Chattanooga. Mr. Solomon is also survived by five step-children: Eva and Alan Campbell, Sandy and Mike McInturff, Mary and Mike Mack, Julie and Jeff Davis and David and Angela Bowers also 9 step-grandchildren and 13 step-great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister: Frances and Donald Colins and sisters-in-law: Vickie Solomon and Margie DaMitz and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Decator and Ioda (Waddell) Solomon, along with his brother Wayne Solomon.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 pm on Tuesday February 3, 2026 at Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the chapel with interment at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. The Rev. Bobby Morrison and Jeremiah Lewis will officiate.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Adult Sunday School class of the Horse Creek Church of God.
