It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of George Paris on December 1, 2023 at the age of 78. He was a devoted family man, an avid Toronto Maple Leafs, Guelph Storm, and Hamilton Tiger Cats fan.
Loving husband to Jane for 19 years. Devoted father to Robbie (Jennifer) and Kristi. Proud Papa to Jolene and Ronin. Cherished brother to the late Mary, Betty (late Albert), Janet (Tom), the late Karen (Mike). Brother-in-law to the late Johnny, the late Kay, Georgie (Nickie), and Danny (Kathy). Also brother-in-law to Dan (Maureen), Bill, Mike, Joe (Heather), Stew (Maryse) and Julie. Predeceased by his first wife Lynda (nee McGee) and his parents Robert and Anna Paris.
He will be missed by all his extended family, nieces, nephews, and friends, including the Mini Lakes Community.
After growing up in Hamilton, Ontario, George spent the majority of his career as VP of Finance and Administration at Wella Canada. After retiring from Belvedere in 2010, George spent his retirement in the Mini Lakes Community, enjoying bocce, darts and attending dances. He also enjoyed golfing, traveling and going to see both the Guelph Storm and Toronto Maple Leafs whenever possible. In 2017 George was thrilled to learn he was going to be a Papa, welcoming Jolene in 2018 and Ronin in 2019.
George’s journey was marked by the love he has for his family and his passion for the game. He would often be found cheering for his teams with enthusiasm. The spirit of his teams lives on in the hearts of his family and friends. He was a dedicated husband, father, brother and Papa, whose greatest joy was spending time with his family.
A special thank you to the doctors and nurses at both St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton and the Juravinski Hospital for their care over the years.
