Jerry was the proud father of Christine, Scott (Elizabeth), Kelly, and Shaun (Lisa), and a devoted, fun-loving Grandpa to Joshua, Thomas, Hayley, Grace, and William. He was predeceased in 2019 by his beloved wife of 56 years, Gail, our much-loved mother and grandmother.
A retired electrician, Jerry was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) for over 65 years. Throughout his life, he was an avid sports enthusiast — coaching minor hockey for many years and cheering passionately for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Guelph Storm, London Knights, and the Toronto Blue Jays.
In retirement, Jerry found great joy in socializing with friends, spending time weekly at the Guelph Senior Centre playing Euchre, enjoying regular outings to catch a hockey game or to try his luck at the casino. More recently, Jerry enjoyed the company of his friends at weekly pub nights and afternoon movies at both Guelph Lake Commons and Riverside Glen.
Jerry will be remembered for his warmth, sense of humour, and lifelong dedication to family, friends, and community.
The family will receive their family and friends at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, on Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held in the chapel at 1 p.m. A reception will follow in the Hart Fellowship Lounge. Entombment of ashes in Our Lady Immaculate Mausoleum, Marymount Cemetery, Guelph.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Foundation of Guelph General Hospital would be appreciated by the family. Donation cards are available at the funeral home or online at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com
