Following a devastating motorcycle accident on June 29, 2025, Kamila succumbed to her injuries, leaving behind an immeasurable sense of loss among all who knew and loved her.
Born in Poland, Kamila immigrated to Canada with her family as a child. She spent her early years in Ottawa before settling in the Cambridge area at age 19.
She pursued her studies at the University of Guelph, earning her undergraduate degree, and later completed a postgraduate diploma at Humber College and an MBA from Centenary University. Kamila went on to work at Electrical Safety Authority where she dedicated the remainder of her career, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues.
Kamila was a devoted and loving mother to her son William, who was the absolute light of her life. She embraced motherhood with care, intention, and unwavering love. Kamila also shared a deep bond with her parents and treasured the closeness of her family. Her warmth, loyalty, and compassion earned her many lifelong friendships, and she was cherished by all who knew her.
Kamila had a vibrant spirit. She took pride in her appearance and was known for her impeccable style and grace. Her sharp wit and playful sense of humour made her a joy to be around. She adored animals—so much so that even though she didn’t own a cat, she always kept cat food in the cupboard "just in case." A little squirrel would often visit her back door, a small testament to the kindness and gentleness she radiated.
Despite her life being cut tragically short, Kamila’s final act was one of profound generosity. Through organ donation, she saved the lives of four strangers, giving each recipient a second chance at life and turning her loss into a legacy of hope and healing.
Kamila will be deeply missed by her beloved son William, her loving parents, Danuta and Andrzej Wojcik, her sister Vanessa, and her partner Jason Tavares.
Visitation will take place at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel (1099 Gordon St., Guelph, ON N1G 4X9) on Tuesday, July 22 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Mass and funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 23 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church (98 Alice St. Guelph, ON N1E 2Z8) with interment to follow at Marymount Cemetery (5400 Highway 6 Ariss, ON N0B 1B0).
Though she is no longer with us in body, her love and light will live on in our hearts forever.
