It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Kathleen McFadden on August 25, 2023 at the age of 81.
Loving wife to the late John (2016) for 58 wonderful years. Devoted mother to Colleen McFadden (John Gould) and Bill McFadden (Angie McFadden). Treasured grandmother to Sam and Jack. Cherished sister to Maire Blake, Margaret Phalen, Leo Dieter, and Nora Kramer. Predeceased by her parents James Dieter and Cecilia Dieter. She will be missed by all her friends, extended family, and her grand dogs.
She worked for St Joseph's Palliative Care until she became a mother and brought up both her children. She also worked at the V.O.N. for many years in Guelph, Ontario . Kathleen loved her hobbies, especially embroidery, which she taught her daughter at the age of seven. Her daughter now follows in her footsteps and embroiders as a hobby.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Norfolk Manor for their compassion and care.
Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St. Guelph, cremation has taken place. At Kathleen’s request, a private family urn entombment has taken place at Our Lady Immaculate Mausoleum, Marymount Cemetery, Guelph.
As expressions of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
