Margaret Marie Sanvido passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025 at Hospice Wellington, surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 11, 1930 in Guelph, Ontario, Margaret was the cherished daughter of the late Clayton and Nellie Hannaberg.
A devoted and loving wife to Fred for over 70 wonderful years, mother, nannie, sister, and friend, Margaret dedicated her life to her family and brought warmth and joy to all who knew her. She was a proud and nurturing mother to Leslie, Cindy, Jody and (daughter-in-law) Cathy, and a beloved grandmother to Paige. She also shared a special bond with her furry companion, Buddie.
Margaret was predeceased by her beloved husband Fred (2022), her dear son Chris (2000), her parents, and her siblings Wally, Jack, Dodie, Normie, Gracie, Betty, and Shirley.
A full-time mother, Margaret found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a deep love for gardening, a talent for crafts—especially ceramics—and an eye for collectibles, particularly her cherished dolls. Shopping was one of her favourite pastimes, and she never missed an opportunity to find something special for someone she loved.
Margaret had a special place in her heart for Christmas. She created a magical Christmas room in her home, allowing the spirit of the season to shine all year round. Her zest for life and vibrant personality made her the life of every gathering, and her presence lit up every room she entered.
A passionate traveller, Margaret loved exploring the world and making new friends along the way. Some of her favourite destinations included Las Vegas, Europe, and the Bahamas—places where she created memories that will be treasured by those who shared them with her.
Margaret's warmth, laughter, and boundless love will be deeply missed by her family, her many friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her legacy of love and joy will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at Hospice Wellington for the exceptional care, compassion and kindness given to our mom and the family throughout this journey.
Also, a thank you to Cathy from Closing the Gap for the love and care you provided to mom. She always looked forward to your visits - you were very special to her.
