Beloved son of Barbara (and the late Clarence), loving father to Debra (Glen), Jeff (Angela) and Mike (Monica), cherished grandfather to Trevor (Tonie), Jacob (Kailyn), Christopher, Isabelle, Matthew, Stella and Giulia, proud great-grandfather to Ronnie and Beau. He will be sadly missed by his sister, Judy (Danny), life partner Audrey, and fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A gifted woodworker, Mark once built his own guitar—just one example of the skill and care he brought to everything he did. He was a skilled taxidermist, a talented painter, a lover of cars, and spent countless hours meticulously building models, and indulging his love of history.
Though reserved and soft-spoken, Mark had a quick wit and a wide social circle. He seemed to know everyone and made time for each person in his quiet, steady way. His kindness, patience, and willingness to listen made him someone people instinctively trusted.
Hard-working and always ready to lend a hand, Mark lived by his own motto: “Get’er done.”
He will be deeply missed by friends, family, and the many lives he touched simply by being himself.
A funeral service will take place on Friday, August 8 at 10:30 am at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St. Guelph, followed by a reception in the Fellowship Lounge. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mark to Hospice Wellington would be appreciated by the family.
