Michael Thompson

Loving father to Mike and Paul, Loving husband to Ina, Proud grandfather of Paula and Michael Joseph. Dear brother of Neil, George, Marjory, John and Cora. Nieces and Nephews of Bernard, Catharine, George, John, Sandra, Joseph and Allan. Predeceased by Parents Cornelius and Marjory. Will be missed by all friends and extended family.

Michael was a humble but proud man who dedicated his entire life to family and God. He was a man of few words and always chose them wisely. Originally from Greenock, Scotland, in his youth he was an award-winning long distance runner before joining the Merchant Navy. He moved the family to Canada in 1972 where he worked as an engineer for Ontario Hydro until his retirement. His laugh and smile along with his witty, one of a kind sayings will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

May all God's Angels carry him home on his final journey. Plod on Dad.

Arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, 1099 Gordon St, Guelph. A Memorial Service for Michael will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday, January 30, 2026 at 3:00 pm. Cremation has taken place.

As expressions of sympathy, donations made to the Alzheimer's Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
