With broken hearts and profound grief, the Watson and Pena families mourn the sudden and unexpected passing of Michael Watson, 48, of heart and lung complications.
Grieving this devastating loss are Michael’s most cherished and devoted sons, Ricardo (Ricky), Nathaniel (Nate), and Theodore (Theo) in Windsor.
Michael’s sons were his purpose in life and over the past few years, Michael openly received help to be the best father possible. He was so very proud of his sons’ achievements at school and in sports and especially loved to watch them grow into polite and thoughtful young men.
Joined in grief are Michael’s parents Marilyn and David Watson (Guelph), aunts and uncles Phyllis Edwards and Dick Williamson (Freelton) and Catherine Kenwell and Kevin Watson (Barrie).
Also mourning Michael’s loss are the Pena family: Carolina, Maria and Ricardo, and Alonso (Windsor).
Michael was predeceased by his younger sister Sarah Watson ( Guelph, 2016).
Growing up in a small family, friends and extended family were very important to Michael. He loved and appreciated his friends, who will also miss him greatly.
Michael’s favourite place was the family cottage in Orillia. A summer day with his boys on Lake Couchiching was his heaven on earth, full of laughter, adventure, and Sea-Doo trips around the lake.
Throughout his career, Michael worked at several engineering companies in the Guelph-Kitchener-Cambridge area. He had recently earned his advanced drone flying pilots license, and we all marveled at the sweeping videos of the ‘cottage at Couch’ he captured so artistically.
