Nelson Raymond Parker

Devoted husband to his high school sweetheart, Paula, for 51 beautiful years, Nelson was the proud father of Rees (Laura) and Kyle (Stephanie), and adoring Papa to Logan, Cara, Killian, and Dominic.

He is survived by his twin brother, Michael (Marie Anne), his sister Elena (Michael Mazal), and was a beloved uncle to Jason, Ellen, Xander, and Zane.

A career engineer in the automotive industry, Nelson retired in 2008 only to begin a second chapter as a school bus driver—combining his commitment to safety with his love of helping others. He was instrumental in developing and maintaining the school transportation health and safety program, remaining deeply involved right up until his passing.

In retirement, Nelson found great joy traveling with Paula on their 34-foot Chris Craft boat, casting lines on fishing trips, and doting on his grandchildren. A Mercedes-Benz aficionado and proud family man, Nelson’s greatest goal was to nurture a close-knit family—and he succeeded.

Genuine, down-to-earth, and always recognizable by his warm smile and unmistakable presence, Nelson brought life to every room he entered. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Cremation has taken place. As per Nelson’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral. As expressions of sympathy donations in memory of Nelson to Diabetes Canada would be appreciated by the family.
