Robert Keith Grant, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, peacefully passed away at his home in Guelph on Wednesday, May 15th, 2024. He was just shy of celebrating 33 remarkable years of marriage to his devoted wife Marie.
Born in Hamilton, Robert was known for his simplicity, down-to-earth nature, and pragmatic approach to life. He cherished the simple joys and found contentment in the everyday moments. Robert had a special affinity for spending time on the water, particularly enjoying the company of friends and family, fishing off the dock. He had a knack for tinkering and could often be found puttering around his property, tirelessly fixing whatever needed attention (or at least trying to).
A testament to his dedication and hard work, Robert annually chopped an impressive 18 cords of firewood alongside his beloved Marie. Their partnership was a true reflection of love, teamwork, and unwavering commitment.
Robert's greatest joy came from his family. He was a loving and devoted father to Danielle (Josh) and Jason, and his heart overflowed with pride at the mention of his grandchildren, Abigail, Katherine, and Lucas. He cherished every moment spent with them, creating lasting memories and imparting his wisdom with warmth and affection.
In recent times, Robert found solace and joy in tending to his beautiful new garden, a labor of love that reflected his nurturing spirit and appreciation for life's beauty.
Robert Keith Grant leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and simplicity. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.
A memorial visitation for Robert will be held Saturday, May 25, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Hart Chapel (1099 Gordon St.) A Celebration of Robert's Life will take place at 2:00 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel, where friends and family will come together to honor his memory and share stories of his remarkable life.
