Vita Sylvia Ottosen

On August 1, 1959, she married Kris Ottosen and the next eight years were spent enjoying air force life. During this time, her two children Richard and Helle were born. In July 1967, the family immigrated to Canada. At that time, the family had the opportunity to move to the United States, an option that Vita absolutely rejected, saying “my son is not going to fight in some stupid American war”. We all thank Vita for choosing Canada.

In Canada, after raising her children Vita became an excellent furniture salesperson.

Vita always had a great sense of humour. She enjoyed skiing, golfing and became an excellent bridge player. She also enjoyed reading the newspaper everyday. Travelling became a great passion, enjoying many cruises along with vacations in Yucatan Mexico, Barbados, Florida and of course Denmark being her favourites.

Vita never had a problem finding friends, many of which became family friends for life. Vita will be sorely missed by her husband, Kris, her children Richard and Helle, her son-in-law Wade as well as 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Village by the Arboretum, Village Centre, Reid Hall South (33 Village Green Drive, Guelph) on Friday, August 1, 2025 at 12 noon. This would have been Kris and Vita’s 66th wedding anniversary.
