Alberta Jean Hendsbee

A. Jean Hendsbee of Halifax passed away peacefully at Melville Lodge Nursing home on Sunday May 14th, 2023. She was the daughter of Maria and Duncan Robertson of York Point PEI. She is survived by a dearly loved son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Tanya, Dartmouth NS. She was pre-deceased by her husband Dewey in 1985, a sister Elizabeth Cummings (Harry) of Charlottetown PEI and brother Elmer Robertson (Helen) also of Charlottetown.

Jean came to live in Halifax in the 1940’s and worked at Eaton’s for many years and at the Victoria General Hospital where she worked until she retired.

Jean was a member of West End Baptist Church for over 70 years. She along with her late husband were active in the choir as well as a mixed quartet. Jean was very active in the Miriam Ross Women’s Missionary Society where she served as President, Secretary and Pianist.

Douglas and Tanya would like to thank the Staff of Melville Lodge for their care and kindness showed to her during her stay there.
