

Born in St. Johns Newfoundland, Allan was a devoted husband, Father, Grandfather, Uncle and Friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Patricia (Robinson); son Scott, Halifax; daughters Leanne (Steven) Lydiard, Dartmouth; Laura (Aaron) Grant, Alberta and his cherished Grandchildren: Kayla and Sarah Snow, Courtney and Andrew Lydiard, Ava and Zoe Grant, siblings: Bonnie (Forrest), Catherine (Bryden), and Cecil. He was predeceased by his parents Art and Jenny Snow and his sister; Shirley (Keough), and brother Art.
Allan moved to Luneburg, Nova Scotia at the age of 4 and spent most of his life in Halifax, with 11 memorable years in Bridgewater. He and Pat raised their family on Wright Avenue in Halifax. The street was filled with wonderful neighbors and lifelong memories.
He had a long and successful career in sales, working with Farmers Dairy and later with Atlantic Lotto Corp. After retiring, he found joy in staying active and engaged with people by becoming a commissionaire at the Halifax airport.
Community service was a cornerstone of Allan's life. He dedicated 42 years to the Armdale Fairview Rockingham Lions Club, where he formed lifelong friendships and contributed generously of his time and energy to helping others. He held many offices throughout his decades of service. Allan was especially looking forward to serving as King Lion for the 2025-2026 term - a role he was honoured to take on and excited to fulfill.
Allan was known for his kindness, generosity, sense of humor and strong work ethic. He was an avid golfer who loved spending time with his friends and family , whether on the golf course or simply out for a drive. He loved to travel - especially to Florida in the winter and Alberta where he loved the rocky mountains. He enjoyed watching football and playing board games with his Grandkids. In later years, he spent many hours diamond dotting, which brought him peace and satisfaction.
He shared a special bond with his "fav" nephews, who brought him great joy and laughter over the years. Their visits , jokes and shared stories were a highlight in his life.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 16 at 10 a.m. at Snow's Funeral Home, Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Reception to follow and Internment at Fairview Lawn Cemetery, Windsor Street. In lieu of flowers, donations in Allan's memory may be made to the Lung or Diabetes Associations or a charity of your choice.
He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
