Anastasia Petrites

PETRITES, Anastasia (Tasia) – 83, of Halifax, N.S. passed away January 14, 2012 at the VG site, QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Athens, Greece she was the daughter of the late Vasilios and Eleni Kavoukis. With great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; Anastasia Petrites. She was born in Athens, Greece in 1928. She immigrated to Canada in 1954 to join her husband George in making a life filled with love and family. Together they had their own business and helped many people along the way. Tasia’s greatest gifts were love and devotion to her family. We will always cherish her in our hearts for all the beautiful memories that she has given us.

Survived by two daughters Lillian Breckenridge and Helen Burns; brother Takis Kavoukis, Athens, Greece; grandchildren Ann, Christina, George, William and Christopher; great-grandchildren Brody, Chloe and Athena. She was predeceased by husband George, daughter Elizabeth, sister Toula, brother Mimi. Visitation will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax (902) 455-0531 on Wednesday, January 18th from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held at St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church, Purcell’s Cove Rd., January 19th at 1:00pm, Father Panagiotis Maropoulos officiating.
